JHF is the sourcing division of Spinneys Dubai LLC with headquarters in the UK, USA and Australia. JHF provides a wide range of perishable and non-perishable food items, complemented by a selection of non-food grocery provisions. All the fresh and ambient products are of the highest quality available and are sourced through a group of carefully selected and trusted suppliers around the world. Goods offered range from smoked salmon, British lamb, Australian beef, fresh berries, avocados and mangoes through to staple commodities such as rice, flour, lentils and sugar. JHF knows the ABC of food distribution throughout the Middle East as well as other regions across the globe.

Marthinus began his career in retail management in 1985 as a trainee manager and was promoted to branch manager within a year. In 1992, he moved to a wholesale company and served as food manager for the next four years. In 1996, he secured an opportunity to gain international experience and served as head of buying ambient for Carrefour in Dubai. Marthinus commenced his stint with Spinneys 21 years ago, when he joined as a commercial manager. He currently oversees Spinneys' UK buying office and is responsible for sourcing products from across the UK and Europe. With extensive experience as a Generalist in food retail, Marthinus particularly enjoys sourcing new and innovative products.

Michael began his career in the hospitality sector but soon ventured into the trade and export of food items, including seafood, from Australia to various countries including the UAE. In 2003, he set up a trading and distribution company in Dubai and branched out into frozen and fresh groceries. He soon had a foothold in the retail sector and came to represent a number of major brands, including Spinneys. Michael’s company started supplying Spinneys with a large majority of its Australian products. In 2013, Spinneys absorbed Michael’s business to have direct control over the supply of products from Australia and New Zealand. Michael stayed on as managing director and has been running JHF Australia Exports Pty. Ltd for the last 10 years.

Michael Fernandes leads the US sourcing office (JHF USA Exports, Inc) for Spinneys, overseeing operations from his base in Houston. Originally from Mumbai, India, Michael joined Spinneys in Dubai back in 1994. Michael initially worked in the finance department until 2006 when he relocated to Houston following his wife's transfer there. In 2007, Michael was tasked with establishing in-house sourcing operations in the US. He incorporated JHF USA Exports, Inc in the state of Texas, initially operating from his residence. Since then, the business has flourished under his leadership and his able team. Today, the company operates from a combined office and warehouse facility in Houston. When not hard at work, Michael enjoys travelling, reading, sampling different cuisines and above all, cooking. His signature dish is butter chicken.
